Just some random steadicam tests using my Flyer and Asdin’s Sony camera. I’ll probably help him shooting the next Adrone’s music video. We’ll see…
We can see Asdin giving a try with the steadicam near the end of the video

PS: Yes I know I should add weights to the sony camera, but I didn’t […]

The Seven Deadly Sins of Horror

A fellow filmmaker (screenwriter to be exact, author of Severance, a horror movie which made it to the big screen and DVD) wrote this post about the horror genre: The Seven Deadly Sins of Horror.
It’s quite funny to read, you should definitely check this blog out.
Moreover, for us fellows filmmakers, it’s always interesting to see […]

Hate Trailer Added

( Film-Making and Cinema and My Life )

Hey guys, check out the Videos and Films page. I added Hate Trailer and the videos are now on youtube, so it should work pretty much everywhere.
I noticed that Hate trailer is 16/9 vertically stretched though… We’ll need to reencode that.

nycmidnight screenwriter’s challenge 2006

( Film-Making and Cinema and My Life )

Congratulation to Vijay who made it to the final of the nycmidnight screenwriter’s challenge 2006!
You can check it out yourself: Group 13 results. The theme for this group was “Soldier(s) drama”, and he finished first in his group. Not bad!
The second round (and final) will be on September 22th 11:59PM EST. Let’s hope for the […]

Finally a Steadicam!

( Film-Making and Cinema and My Life )

After a lot of trouble I will not elaborate here, I finally got my Steadicam Flyer!
This thing is amazing. We quickly played around with Oscar and Vijay while recording everything. Here is a small video (2.6M, again you’ll need Quicktime 7).
As you can see on the results, I have a lot of practicing to do… […]

Limits and Unspoken to air on Channel 28 ONTV

( Film-Making and Cinema and My Life )

Just a small message to say that Limits and Unspoken, two short movies made by “our” group/team, will air on a local TV named ONTV (Channel 28 at Fremont, CA). I write “our” because I actually met these guys during Unspoken (since it is starring Yara Demny, my Fiancée) but I didn’t know them when […]

Cinemasports, San Jose, CA, August 2005

( Film-Making and Cinema and My Life )

So, I finally directed something!
We did Cinemasports at San Jose last Saturday. This is the second time we do it, the first time was in April 2005 at Santa Cruz (I’ll probably upload that video later). For those who don’t know what Cinemasports is, this is a 10h marathon for short movie: at […]

New Trailers!

( Film-Making and Cinema and My Life )

I just added a page with some Movie Trailers.
For the moment I have uploaded the following trailers:

Bollywood America, written and directed by VJ Rajan, started as a 10min short films but will finally end up (still in production) being 50min long. As its title indicates, it is a bollywood-style movie. And as all bollywood movie […]

“Hate” the short movie

( Film-Making and Cinema and My Life )

So we re-shot the main scene from “Hate”, a short movie directed by Dashiel Pare-Mayer and written by Vijay Vanniarajan. I am afraid to say too much, so let’s just say that the story is about homophobia.
I have some production photos if you want.
