For the posterity, this is the translation of an old article I wrote in 2000. Of course since most people don’t use Microsoft Windows 95 or 98 anymore, this article is somehow outdated. Nonetheless, it can still have some interests for those who are interested in low level programming and reverse engineering on x86 architecture.

I’ll hope some people will find the informations they were looking for, or will enjoy the article for the sake of it.
