That’s it, Monday was the day: first day and first week in Med’ school.
The first day was quite… interesting. Check this video out, singing (at some point the teacher even joins in), sex demonstrations and even… nudity :p
Otherwise a couple of stats, observations and comments:
- In the first year you have approx. 2400 students, separated in 8 sections (different class schedules) of 300 people, themselves cut in 8 sub groups for some classes.
- Last year’s numerus clausus (number of people who can go through the 2nd year) was 387.
- There is absolutely no doubts in other students’ mind that I’m 18. Dunno if it’s a good thing or not. I guess that’s the 25% Vietnamese blood
- I went to the library to study for the first time in my life - so weird…
- Speaking about the library, if you study 7h straight without taking any break you seriously feel high. I don’t know if this is the dehydration, the hunger or some kind of neuro chemical substance the brain might release when you work too hard. Maybe I should ask my biology teacher about that, but you seriously feel high. Hence the following ultimate solution for the drug addicts: work harder
- I randomly stumbled upon Sharon Stone at the Café Flore, at the street corner, next to the university. She was dressed as a biker. You seriously didn’t want to mess with her, neither did you with the 5 body guards
- It feels good to do some biology again and the anatomy class is really interesting (assuming you like to learn how stuff work under the hood). I guess that’s good for someone who wants to be a surgeon…
- Having some sine and cosine here and there is considered by some as “doing math”, for some others not remembering derivation formulas is “being rusty”. And I thought I was rusty at maths. I feel reassured now :p
That’s it for the moment. Going back to studying…
